Ladies Football 2009/2010 Junior Ladies Our Junior Ladies had 4 matches in their very competitive group that contained St. Mary's Ballina, St. Attracta's, Tubbercurry, Sacred Heart Wesport And St. Nathy's Ballaghadreen. In our first match we ran eventual winners St. Mary's, Ballina to 3 points on a score line of 3:10 to 3:7 in Boyle. We lost to Attracta's at home on a score line of 5:12 to 3:7 against a very strong Sligo outfit. This left us having to win our next 2 games to have a chance of Qualifying. We beat Sacred Heart, Westport in Charlestown in a cracker on a score line of 3:8 to 2:9. In our last game we beat St. Nathy's convincingly on a score of 6:11 to 0:2. However other results didn't go our way and that ended our season. Junior B is a very competitive standard and our girls are doing very well to compete against much larger schools. Mr. Mullen would like to thank all the panel for their efforts and the captain and vice captain, Naomi Doonan and Laura Bohan. ( All reports and Team photograph from year to follow shortly )
Senior Ladies Our Senior girls had a very successful year playing 5 games, winning 4 but eventually bowing out of the Senior C competition at the semi final Stage. We finished top of our group with wins over Carrick CS, St. Clare's, Manorhamilton, Drumshanbo VS and St. Joseph's, Summerhill, Athlone and this was a huge achievement. However we had a long lay off from December to February until the semi final where we were well beaten by a strong Ursaline, Sligo. Mr. Mullen would like to thank all the girls for their effort over the year the Principals and all the teachers for their co-operation in allowing students out of class to participate. Thanks also to captain and vice-captain, Niamh Mc Govern and Rachel Doonan. ( All reports from year and Team Photograph to follow Shortly )
